Privacy Policy
HelpMeTest is a QA automation platform. To run tests, we open real browsers in the cloud and navigate your application. That means we handle data differently from a typical SaaS product — this policy explains specifically what we collect, why, and what happens to it.
What We Collect and Why
Account Data
When you sign up: your email address and the name you provide. We use this to identify your account, send test results, and contact you about the service. We don't require a phone number. We don't build marketing profiles.
Test Configurations
The test descriptions you write — what to test, which URL to run it against, what to check. These are stored so tests can be replayed on schedule or on demand. You own this content and can delete it at any time.
Browser Session Recordings
When HelpMeTest runs a test, it opens a real cloud browser and navigates your app. We record these sessions so you can replay exactly what the browser did — every click, scroll, and network request — to debug failures. Recordings are tied to specific test runs.
Important: if your application shows sensitive user data during a test (a real user's profile, payment details, etc.), that data may appear in session recordings. We recommend testing against staging environments with synthetic data, not production with real user data.
Authentication States
HelpMeTest can save browser authentication states — the cookies and session tokens that keep a user logged in — so tests don't have to log in from scratch every run. These are stored encrypted and scoped to your account. They are never used outside of running your tests.
Usage Logs
Standard server logs: which API endpoints were called, when, from which IP. Used for debugging, security monitoring, and rate limiting. Retained for 90 days.
AI Processing
HelpMeTest uses AI models to generate test steps, suggest fixes, and analyze failures. When you describe a test in plain English, that description is processed by an AI model to produce executable test steps. Your test descriptions and the application content the browser encounters may be included in these model requests.
We use third-party AI providers for this processing. We do not use your data to train external models under opt-in data processing agreements.
What We Don't Do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't share test configurations or session recordings with other customers.
- We don't use your application content for advertising.
Data Retention
- Test results and session recordings: retained for 30 days after a test run, then deleted automatically. You can delete them earlier from your dashboard.
- Test configurations: retained until you delete them or close your account.
- Account data: retained until account deletion. We process deletion requests within 14 days.
Third-Party Services
We use cloud infrastructure providers to run browser sessions and store data. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. We do not grant them independent rights to your data.
Your Rights
You can export your test configurations, delete individual tests or your entire account, and request a copy of the data we hold. Email contact@helpmetest.com.
Changes to This Policy
We'll post updates here. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we'll email registered users.
